Rishi Navani
Rishi Navani is the co-founder and Managing Director of Matrix India and has been
investing in India since 1996. Previously, he was a Managing Director at
WestBridge Capital Partners now known as Sequoia India where he played a key role in all aspects of building the firm
from 2001 through 2005. Rishi has also worked at Apax Partners and started his investment career at Indocean Ventures, an affiliate of Soros Fund Management and JP Morgan Partners based in Mumbai. He has also been a management consultant at A.T.
Kearney and McKinsey & Co.
Rishi currently serves on the board of
asklaila,
BMI,
Seventymm and
Tree House. Rishi previously invested in
Firstsource (BSE: FSL), Indecomm Global Services, Jamdat Mobile (JMDT,
acquired by Electronics Arts) and Zavata
(acquired by Apollo Health Street).
Rishi holds a B.A. with Distinction in Mathematical Methods in the Social
Sciences and Economics from Northwestern University. He also holds an M.B.A.
with Distinction from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania,
where he received the Ford Fellowship Award as the #1 ranked first-year student.
He is a member of the Mumbai chapter of YEO and a charter member of TiE Mumbai.
